From April 2021, Junior High school students entering the first grade face a new more challenging curriculum. Lessons will focus more on communication and the nature use of English. Lessons will also be all English. Japanese will no longer be used in the classroom.

Here at Crystal English, we have always had an English communication based curriculum. Students are encouraged to communicative with each other and the teachers in English. We feel that this set up works well for the students in the short and long term. Students soon realise that they can communicative with other people in a different language. This gives their motivation a boost when they try to use English in other situations.

From April 2020, the curriculum in Japanese elementary schools will change. Regular lessons will start from the 3rd grade. Also, the difficultly of the lessons will increase too.

With this in mind, we developed a crash course for children starting grades 3 to 5. The course is designed to help children adjust to the new curriculum. During the course, children will learn new things in a fun and interesting way. The idea is to build up children’s understanding of English though communicating with other children. We believe this is the best way to get children to understand the language and to keep them engaged with learning.
